Book Signings and Stick Drawings
When Shelley and I attended the Forrest Fenn book signing at The Collected Works Book Store on Saturday, June 23, 2018, Shelley brought her as-of-then unsigned copy of Fenn’s first memoir, “The Thrill of the Chase.” She, like others in attendance, planned to have Fenn sign it. Shelley stood in line with the other searchers who had attended for the same reason, some of them buying copies of other of Fenn’s books to get his signature upon them.
Eventually, Fenn signed her book and then took another moment to draw one of his infamous stick figures.
Miranda Collenge, the reporter representing Esquire Magazine who was in town from the UK for the story, was sitting aside Fenn and asked, “What is that?” Fenn quickly replied, “This is Shelley, running towards the treasure.”
I scanned it to share with you. Click on the image for a full-sized view.
