  1. I have to start by saying I am fairly new to the chase so forgive me if i’m the ten thousandth person to think of this.

I have often imagined “what if” the TTOTC never gained popularity with it’s readers in the way it has and/or the media outlets never provided a platform for Mr. Fenn to share all he has about the poem and TTOTC.

That imagination evolved into a theory that the TTOTC was originally written by Mr. Fenn and with that very premise. TTOTC is essentially the owners manual for the poem. Nearly everything you need to know about the poem and the treasure can be found in TTOTC.

With that said, Teacher With Ropes could simply be hinting the clues are contiguous so DON’T TOUCH THE POEM. Mr. Fenn has decided to share this fact with us but if he hadn’t then maybe he thought to include it when he was writing the TTOTC.

P.S. Toby, You have stated a couple times that the 200′ comment was sometime in 2014. I believe there’s an audio interview dated 4/3/2013 and at the 12min and 34sec mark in the audio Mr. Fenn reveals someone has solve the first 2 clues, went right by the treasure, and got pretty close. See link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmRex5DRfCc

    • Fenn has never conflated the 200 foot searcher with the solved first 2 clues searcher.
